Manuel Casanova And Vedat Gashi Have Launched Campaigns Against 16th Congressional District Represenitive Jamaal Bowman

Vedat Gashi filed with the Federal Election Commission and has been raising money and support for a run against Representative Jamaal Bowman.

Westchester County Legislator Vedat Gashi lives and works in his hometown of Yorktown with his wife and two kids who attend public school.

He is an attorney and active member of the Yorktown Democratic Party where he serves as a Democratic District Leader.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who lives in Yonkers, was elected to Congress in 2020.

In 2009, Jamaal founded Cornerstone Academy for Social Action, a Bronx middle school with a holistic curriculum, where he served as principal for a decade.

Manuel Casanova, a former political strategist and sales manager in New Rochelle also entered the race last October.

Manuel is gathering signatures to run a Democratic primary against incumbent Congressman. Jamaal Bowman on June 28th.

The 16th Congressional District in New York was redrawn this year, and now stretches from the north central Bronx and includes Yonkers, Mount Vernon, Harrison, North Castle, Bedford, Somers, Yorktown and portions of Eastchester, New Rochelle and White Plains in Westchester and Putnam Valley and Carmel in Putnam County.
