POLICE PURSUIT: Port Chester Teenager Crashes into Restaurant On Purchase Street In Rye

CITY OF RYE: A Rye city police officer said a car on Theodore Fremd Avenue and North Street was traveling 54 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h. zone. 

The Officer says he attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued.

The pursuit ended when the driver lstruck the store front of Fogama restaurant.

The driver of the vehicle and five occupants were assisted from the vehicle and the operator was arrested.

The operator identified as Leonardo Guerrero was charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd, and Reckless Driving.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance and ordered to return to the Rye City Court at a later date.

No injuries were reported.
