CITY OF NEW ROCHELLE: Parks Clean-up Weekend is open to all New Rochelle community members.
Volunteers will be tasked with a range of outdoor spring-cleaning duties, including trail maintenance, trash removal, playground and beach cleanup, and more.
With 12 different projects planned for this weekend of service, residents can choose to support the neighborhood park that they enjoy the most throughout the year or is closest to their home.
See parks list and cleanup schedule below.
To sign-up visit volunteernewyork.org/newrochelle or call 914-948-4452 for more info. Volunteers between 5 to 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Group and team registrations are also available.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to once again partner with Volunteer New York! and the public at this 2-day, City-wide Earth Day Parks Cleanup Weekend, now at 12 sites throughout New Rochelle,” noted Vin Parise, New Rochelle Commissioner of Parks & Recreation.
“As we prepare for the warmer months ahead and look forward to thousands of parks visitors, we welcome all to be a part of this great weekend of giving back to our parks & trails.”
Volunteer New York! Executive Director, Jeanette Gisbert said, "One thing I am thankful for as we emerge from this pandemic is the strong, continued partnership Volunteer New York! has had with the City of New Rochelle to connect volunteers to opportunities to keep their community spaces green, clean, and accessible for all to continue to enjoy."
