RYE BROOK: Plan For Redevelopment Of Doral Arrowwood Put Forward

REAL ESTATE: Charles Cohen of Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation, is working on project plans for the  shuttered Doral Arrowwood resort property.

Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation is considering redeveloping the property into a luxury resort and housing project that would include a 146-room luxury hotel, 36 permanent housing units and 78 townhomes.

The Manhattan-based developer, who grew up in Harrison, NY, says the property amenities would include a spa, dining overseen by a celebrity chef and recreation facilities.

There would also be lounge spaces, fitness facilities and conference rooms.

The existing hotel, however, would be demolished and the golf course would be converted into an open space with a trail network.

The troubled Doral Arrowwood hotel told workers it was shutting down in December 2019.

The company management failed to give employees sufficient legal notice, an issue raised in a lawsuit joined by the New York attorney general and a State Senator Shelley Mayer that forced the company to pay 2.7 Million to approximately  250 workers fired from the hotel.

Control of the Arrowwood property had been the subject of court cases, but they appear to be settled if this re-development is going forward.

Previously, Cohen Brothers redeveloped 333 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, NY; which once was the headquarters of General Foods.
