Westchester Parks Foundation and Westchester County Parks today announce details for the 48th Annual Bicycle Sundaysseason for 2022. During this annual event, bicyclists, skaters, joggers and walkers will take over 6.5 miles of the Bronx River Parkway. The program kicks off on May 1 and continues every Sunday in May, June, and September – except Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. The program is presented by Westchester County Parks and sponsored by the Westchester Parks Foundation and its partners, through generous donations from co-presenting sponsors NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital and Con Edison.

To help kick off the series, Westchester Parks Foundation and Westchester County Parks Department will promote Bicycle Safety Month this May with tips to help promote a safe ride along the 6.5 miles of the Bronx River Parkway.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Year after year, the community comes out in droves to participate in Bicycle Sundays. It’s such a wonderful program that allows friends and families to practice healthy traditions together while soaking in the scenery of the Bronx River Reservation.”

Seth Mandelbaum, Chair of Westchester Parks Foundation stated, “Bicycle Sundays is a great way to promote a healthy outdoor lifestyle for the entire family, along the oldest park in Westchester – the Bronx River Parkway Reservation. Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathy O’Connor said, “Support from the Westchester Parks Foundation and its sponsors has helped sustain our longest running, most-loved program – Bicycle Sundays – for the past decade; it brings in participants from across the county to utilize the open space of the Bronx River Parkway without the interruption of vehicles to hone in on their cycling skills or to enjoy time with family.”
